Collaborative Writing Task: Film Review

Hellllooooo, lovely people! How are youu?? I hope you are alll pretty good! 🎀
So, let me tell you about this enjoyable assignment we had for our ICT class recently. It was all about collaborative writing – yes, teamwork, creativity, and a pinch of chaos (the good kind)! My amazing teammates, Begüm and Sıla, (click click!) and I teamed up to create a film review, and guess which classic we picked? Pride and Prejudice! 💖
I mean, who doesn’t love a bit of Mr. Darcy drama and Elizabeth Bennet sass, right?
We watched the movie adaptation (the 2005 one with Keira Knightley – iconic), took notes, shared giggles, and then got down to business. We discussed everything from the storyline to the aesthetics, and even the chemistry between the characters.
Working together was actually so much fun – we each brought different perspectives and ideas to the table. While one of us focused on the visual elements, another dived into summary, and someone (okay, it was me 😄) couldn’t stop talking about the soundtrack and how it made everything feel ten times more romantic.
We used Google Documents to create the work which allows us to work collaboratively and so useful for these types of tasks. Let me talk about the app, in terms of its usefulness and simple design, I would definitely, recommend this to my students and assign them to work collaboratively by using the app. They can also receive feedbacks from their peers as we did from our friends Sude, Halil and Irem (click again!) thanks to the app and they can improve their works.
“The findings suggest that collaborative learning has a positive impact on student achievement. Students working in small, cooperative groups demonstrate greater academic gains than those working individually.” Slavin, R. E. (1995). Cooperative Learning: Theory, Research, and Practice. Allyn & Bacon.

Hereee!
In the end, we managed to put together a review that we were genuinely proud of. It wasn’t just about completing a task – it was about sharing thoughts, learning from each other, and actually enjoying the process.
So yeah, turns out writing about a centuries-old love story with your friends can be surprisingly refreshing. ICT can be fun too – who knew?

Until next time, stay curious and collaborative! 💻✨

xoxo,

Bernis 🌸
