Infographic Design for ICT and Material Design Course
Helloooo everyonee!!! How nice to see you again!! How are you?
💃💅I hope everything is going well in your life.
I have news for you, another day, another assignment!
About a week ago, we were assigned to create an infographic on one of the following ethical and legal issues in technology use: plagiarism, copyright and fair use, safety and privacy, netiquette, or cyberbullying.
If you’re wondering, “What is an infographic?”
Let me explain!!!
An infographic is a visual tool used to present information, data, or knowledge in a simple and engaging way. It helps convey complex ideas quickly and clearly by combining text, images, and graphics. There are nine different types of infographics, such as process infographics and statistical infographics. For this assignment, our instructor specifically asked us to create an informational infographic.
As the name suggests, the main goal of an informational infographic is to educate and inform the audience. To do that effectively, we need to organize the content in a way that’s easy to understand and use visual elements like charts, icons, graphs, and illustrations to support comprehension.
For my topic, I chose “copyright.” I started by gathering reliable information from the web. I also reviewed all the sample infographics our instructor shared to better understand how to structure and design mine. Once I felt ready, I moved on to the design process.
I used Canva to create my infographic -it’s my go-to tool for design projects because it’s simple, practical, and very beginner-friendly-. One of the key challenges in this kind of work is avoiding clutter and making my work overcrowded with too much text or too many visuals. I paid close attention to that while also trying to make the layout visually appealing. Striking that balance was definitely a bit of a challenge!
I believe infographics are incredibly useful -especially for young learners-. With the help of visuals, we -as teachers- can capture their attention more easily and deliver messages more effectively. The step-by-step layout also helps make complex topics feel more approachable and easier to understand. So, It is a decent way to teach which we should more involve in our classes.
When it comes to my work, end of the process I was fully satisfied with my infographic. Although I had some difficulities like organizing all the information in a balanced way, It has contributed my knowledge of ethical and legal issues which can be useful for my further academic works. In adition to this, I was supposed to be fully focused and creative to done my assignment. While I am gradually coming to the end, I am sure you are looking forward to see it. If you are ready,
Taaa-daaa!!!! My masterpiece!!!
